Holiday time is coming and we invite you to come celebrate at TLC Farm. We have two fun events:
1) Annual Holiday Open House, Sunday, December 15th fron 1-3 pm
Our longest standing event has been on Covid-pause for a few years, but we're brining it back and hope that ou can brave the weather, share good cheer and hear about the last 20 years of TLC Farm and exciting plans for the future.
2) Movie Night: Muppet Christmas Carol, Thursday, December 19th 7 pm.
A new annual holiday tradition, we'll be showing the best adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic Christmas ghost story in the yurt. We'll provide snacks and hot spiced cider. Donations welcome, but not needed.

This is a fundraiser for TLC Farm's educational programs with a suggested donation of $10-20, but no one turned away for lack of funds (kids are free!).
As always, there is no onsite parking! Ride your bike or organize carpools and catch the shuttle at Riverdale High School (9727 SW Terwilliger Blvd.)
Tryon Life Community Farm has been sowing and harvesting community for 10 fantastic years! The summer solstice is right around the corner! Dads are great! There are so many marvelous reasons to join us on Sunday, June 19th for our Bloom Festival. Let's celebrate!
This year's Bloom will be a Festival of the Collectival: an opportunity to bring your creativity, your performance, your favorite dish, and your loved ones together on the land to share in one anothers' gifts.

It's Cob Time again at TLC Farm!
Village Building Convergence: June 3rd-7th
Once again, we'll get muddy together as we participate in our 11th VBC; this year, we'll be hosting natural building work parties to transform our greenhouse using cob and other building techniques to create both a beautiful community gathering place and also a sturdy thermal mass wall to help regulate the greenhouse temperature. This addition complements our new ethnobotanical educational garden/ gathering area.
Join us for work parties Friday June 3rd through Tuesday June 7th,
10:00 am – 4:00 pm every day.
No natural building experience necessary! As always, parking is very limited so please carpool or bike, or catch the shuttle that will be leaving from the VBC central venue (The Refuge, 116 SE Yamhill St, Portland OR 97214) a half hour before work parties begin and returning in time for the evening events. A simple, delicious, nutritious lunch will be provided!

As always, there is no onsite parking! Park at Riverdale Highschool, 9727 SW Terwilliger Blvd. (which is 1/2 mile away) and catch our shuttle - which will run every 15 minutes. You're welcome to drop passengers off at TLC Farm and return to Riverdale to park and catch the shuttle.
There will be snacks, treats, and cob oven pizza for purchase, and a silent auction to raise money for the non-profit education work we do, so bring some funds for that!
Transportation (note: no onsite parking, and shuttle stop has changed)
1. Hike or bike to 11640 SW Boones Ferry Road in Portland
2. Take the #12 bus or drive to Barbur Transit Center -- 9750 SW Barbur Blvd -- and be picked up by TLC Farm's biodiesel shuttle running on the half hour and the hour
Cost: Sliding scale $10-20 per adult. Children under 12 are free. Worktrade available if arranged in advance - contact maralena@tryonfarm.org to volunteer.

Village Building Convergence at TLC Farm
May 31 & June 1 and June 6
We're happy to be participating in another great Village Building Convergence - our tenth one! The VBC is a 10-day "Urban Permaculture Extravaganza" organized by the City Repair Project, with natural building and community-focused projects happening all over the city.
On May 31 and June 1, we'll be re-painting our beloved Tea Whale and using earthen plaster to finish our new seven-sided building.
On June 6th we'll apply some permaculture design techniques to the garden, building an herb spiral and sheet mulching garden beds.
We will be hosting work days from 10am to 4pm on May 30-31 and June 6, and running a shuttle to the VBC main venue at the beginning and end of each work day (RSVP for the shuttle). Lunch, snacks and a delightful time will be provided! For more information, contact Jeffrey or call 503-245-3847.
VBC Evening Event: Sunday June 7
"Singing-Alive" Song Circle, Snackluck, and Sauna
June 7th, 6 - 10pm
We've done it! For the final night of the VBC, Tryon Life Community Farm invites you to come celebrate all of the amazing work we've all done. Please come join us for a "Singing-Alive" inspired evening where we will gather together at TLC Farm surrounded by beautiful forest and share space through the power of Song.
This is a time to share and learn new and old songs and be nourished by the beauty of voice, regardless of ones singing experience. We will have multiple singing circles at a time and YOU are welcome to help hold a circle if you feel inspired. There will be some snacks available, and we ask that if you are able to please bring more! Oh, and we will be firing up our wonderful earthen sauna for the occasion (note: the sauna is clothing optional).
What to Bring:
- you, your friends, and your beautiful voices
- any snacks you'd care to share
- a $10~$20 donation (no one turned away for lack of funds)
- a towel and water bottle for those who want to sing in the sauna
What not to bring:
- intoxicants
- dogs, unless they can be on leash at all times
There is NO onsite parking at TLC Farm, unless folks with special needs prearrange with us (send me an email if this is you). We will be running a shuttle from Riverdale High School - 9727 SW Terwilliger Blvd, Portland, OR 9721, which is about 1 mile away. Also consider carpooling to the high school, and feel free to use our rideshare board.
Yay the VBC is almost here! City-wide place-making and community building is about to commense. Invite your friends to choose TLC Farm as their site for Thursday May 29th-Saturday May 31st. There are going to be several awesome things happening at once on the land:
